Jennifer Thomas  // Honours Student 2024

My work focuses on graphic design with an interest in layout, advertising and filmmaking. My recent works are curated to help evoke emotion, with specific interests in the unseen and underlying message hidden within.

I aim to think of innovative ways to make feel good moments for everyday people and to make them feel an overwhelming sense of emotion using real life scenarios and therefore creating a connection between them and my work. As a result, my projects last beyond myself. My main project this year is focusing on captivating the audience and personifying a retro mid-century chair, which would otherwise go overlooked. This aims to bring light to the beauty in items that hold character as they too have a story to tell but are judged by others and perceived negatively because of how they look.

My current portfolio is reflective of my interests. This year I have divided my time across three projects which all had different durations and outcomes with my main project focusing on exploring the depth of emotional attachment and my smaller print project focuses on conveying nostalgia and our attachment to the past. The third and final project explores the connections built within communities.
